Welcome

Manchester Community College, founded in 1963, is an open admission college, offering over 75 associate in science and associate in art degrees, and certificates. Student enrollment is approximately 15,000 (full- and part-time, credit and credit-free).

The 160-acre, beautifully-wooded, state-of-the-art campus is easily accessible from I-291, I-84 and I-384 - just minutes from Hartford - with plenty of free parking.

Costs and Facts

Tuition is low (only $118 per credit hour + fees, '09-'10) and the class sizes are small. The climate is student-centered and student life is very active.

MCC is a NJCAA Division III college, with intercollegiate athletics for men (soccer, baseball) and women (soccer, basketball), and the college sponsors 25+ student clubs and organizations.

MCC accepts applicants with proof of high school/GED or college completion, immunization and a $20 application fee.

Open House

The MCC Spring Open House will be held on Wednesday, April 21, anytime between 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM, in our new gym in the Great Path Academy building. The Open House is designed to introduce future, returning, transfer and newly admitted students and parents to MCC and the many programs and services that we offer. From Information and Financial Aid sessions to conversations with MCC students, faculty, and staff, the Open House is a great opportunity to learn about the many advantages of attending Connecticut's largest community college.

All are welcome to attend to:

  • Learn about degree, certificate and credit-free programs; on campus, online and hybrid courses; and accelerated College by Design classes.
  • Attend workshops on finanical aid and admissions
  • Learn about the servces and programs for veterans and tour the new veterans' Oasis Center
  • Join MCC Ambassadors as they lead campus tours every half hour during the event and provide an opportunity to see classrooms, science and photo labs, art studios, foodservice labs and the fitness faciltiites.
  • Come early and attend a FAFSA online workshop at 2:00 PM in Lowe L-177
  • Watch our nationally ranked men's baseball team play against Holyoke Community College at 3:30 PM at the McCormick Complex
  • Interested in learning about a career in the growing fields of Health Career? Attend an information session for:
    • Occupational Therapy Assistant Program in LRC A108
    • Respiratory Care Program in LRC B149
    • Surgical Technology Program in LRC B123

Pre- registration is not required. Follow signs to parking lot B; the gym is part of the new Great Path Academy building (directions).

Information Sessions

Admissions information sessions will be held on Tuesday, February 9, and Tuesday, March 9, from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM in the Community Commons, located on the second floor of the Great Path Academy building, room GP 203. Please park in lot B, enter the Great Path Academy building adjacent to the parking lot and go to the 2nd floor. Reservations are not required.

Campus Tours: Spring 2010

MCC campus tours will be held on Wednesday afternoons from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, beginning February 3, 2010. Tours leave from the Admissions office located in L156 in the Lowe building. Reservations are required; please contact Eli Arzola at earzola1@mcc.commnet.edu or call (860) 512-3218.
