Connecticut Rider Education Program (ConRep)
Now accepting registrations for 2014. Classes run weekly from April through October.
The Connecticut Rider Education Program (ConRep) is a statewide program directed by the CT Department of Transportation (DOT). For this year's program, Manchester Community College will offer the Basic Rider Course (BRC).
The Basic Rider Course (BRC) is designed to help individuals with little or no riding experience, as well as those with some riding experience, to achieve a better understanding of what is involved in operating a motorcycle. The BRC begins with the development of the fundamental riding skills of turning, shifting and braking, and expands these basic skills into more advanced street-riding techniques. The course consists of 7 hours of classroom instruction and 12 hours of on-cycle instruction. Motorcycles and helmets are provided. If the course schedules conflict with religious obligations, please specify on the Registration Form and an alternative schedule will be discussed via telephone.
Participants must have a valid driver's license or a motorcycle learner's permit. Also, participants less than 18 years old must have a parent or guardian sign a waiver in order to be accepted into the class. All participants must complete the waiver form.
