    Classical Cuisine Dinner

    Students from MCC’s culinary arts programs will prepare and serve a gourmet meal featuring salad, soup, appetizer, sorbet, entrée, cheese and dessert. Six of the seven courses will be paired with a special wine. The evening will include a celebration of the college's 50th birthday. Proceeds benefits MCC's culinary programs.

    Occupational Therapy Assistant Information Session

    Students interested in being admitted into the OTA program must attend a mandatory information session. Attending an information session is part of the admission process for the OTA program. Coordinators will not meet with students individually prior to attending an information session. Coordinators will answer all questions about the program during the information session. Students do not need to sign up for the information session.

    International Film Series

    Quartet (United Kingdom) –Cecily, Reggie, and Wilfred are in a home for retired musicians. Every year, on October 10, there is a concert to celebrate Verdi's birthday and they take part. Jean, who used to be married to Reggie and the fourth member of the quartet, arrives at the home and disrupts their equilibrium. She still acts like a diva, but she refuses to sing.     Beers, Burgers and Managing Your Bucks

    Health Insurance 101: Do You Need It? Can You Afford It? What are Your Options?The second gathering in the series, will address health insurance issues that are important to those in their twenties and early thirties – including its affordability and whether getting it is a smart move from a financial perspective. On hand to present the facts and answer questions will be panel members Tom Scanlon, CFP, CPA, with Borgida & Company, P.C., in Manchester; Michele Mudrick, representing Access Health CT (Connecticut’s new health insurance exchange); and Ray Stone and Chris Stone, principals at Stone Insurance of Suffield, an independent agency that specializes in health insurance.

    During the first half of the evening, participants will enjoy a sampling of beers from December’s featured brewery, the Thomas Hooker Brewing Company in Bloomfield. Sliders will also be served up by Manchester’s popular burger bar, Corey’s Catsup & Mustard.

    Capitalizing on Connecticut’s boom in handcrafted beer, a new evening series at Manchester’s MCC on Main hopes to draw young adults for beer samplings, sliders and a shot of practical money advice.
