    Live on Main: Eight Mile River Band

    For traditional to modern interpretations of Bluegrass Music, Eight Mile River Band has been performing in CT for almost 35 years. From the traditional sounds of Bill Monroe, Stanley Brothers, Del McCoury, and Jimmy Martin to the more recent sounds of IIIrd Time Out, Seldom Scene, and Blue Highway, Eight Mile River Band brings their own arrangements of vocals and instrumentals to the stage and we know youíll like what you hear.     Urban Storytellers: Warren Hawk

    MCC on Main's Urban Storytellers Series beings again in July! North Carolina Native Warren Hawk aka Warren Justice aka Hawk T Poet pursues multiple interests while balancing everyday life to keep him inspired. From Poetry Slam Teams to music studios to movie sets, Warren Hawk enjoys defying himself and defying what can and can't be done. His debut pop music single "The Way You Walk (Move Me)" is currently making the rounds.

    Join us in the Dehn Gallery for Stretto... Plugged In! The Stretto String Trio is comprised of three faculty members from Beller's Music: violinist Bronwyn Burns, cellist Carlton Burns, and violist Tyler Garuder. The trio will combine their classical strings with electric violin, guitar,and bass guitar for an evening of jazz, rock, and blues. Wine & beer available from bin228.

    MCC on Main presents Chad Browne-Springer, an East Hartford native whose blend of alternative, electronic, and R&B reflects his musical influences: Miguel, Frank Ocean, Coldplay, Elton John, Selah Sue, Justin Timberlake, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Flux Pavilion, Mumford & Sons, and Ne-Yo. He has performed with various choirs and a cappella groups and currently performs with the band Orice Jenkins and The SoulTransRelations and with the vocal group Momentum.

    Join us in the Dehn Gallery for a fusion of bebop, funk and traditional jazz with The Isaac Young Quartet, 2012 CT Advocate's Grand Band Slam Winner for Best Jazz in CT and 2013 New England Music Award Nominee for Best Jazz in New England! The Isaac Young Quartet bridges the gap between jazz and rock idioms, blending the tradition of Charlie Parker to The Beatles into their own unique sound. Wine & beer available from bin228.

    Live on Main: The Dress-Ups with The Sawtelles

    Julie Beman will perform in The Dehn Gallery with a stripped-down version of her band The Dress Ups. Beman's songs are noted for lyrics infused with wonder, whimsy, and smart wordplay. Her songs are sad, joyful, and guileless, and she delivers them in a gentle and pastoral voice.

    The Dress-Ups are joined by husband and wife duo The Sawtelles, a balance of four elements: alternate-tuned guitar, stand-up drum kit (ala Velvet Undergroundís Mo Tucker) and two voices. Wine & beer from bin228.
