    Imagine Main Street & MCC on Main join forces to bring you The Stiletto Singers, live on Main Street for one night only! The Singers' signature show is a 45 minute cabaret style review featuring Broadway show tunes, standards, and pop songs ranging from the 20's through to today, complete with choreography, colorful costumes, and audience participation.     Author Talk - Ralph Baker "New York Shock Exchange"

    Author Ralph Baker Jr. gives a talk about his new book, "Shock Exchange: How Inner-City Kids From Brooklyn Predicted the Great Recession and the Pain Ahead". It explains the stock market and U.S. economy through the eyes of the New York Shock Exchange, a financial literacy program he started in 2006 for his 11 year old son and other boys his age. Mr. Baker serves as Executive Director of the New York Shock Exchange. The book is recommended by Library Journal.

    7:00 PM - Oboe Duo Agosto, with Dr. Charles Huang and Ling-Fei Kang. The classical Duo has played across the USA, Canada, Brazil, and Asia. Huang serves as Chair of Chamber Music at The Hartt School. Kang graduated from the Conservatoire de musique de Montreal. 8:00 PM - Poets Betsy Wheeler and Seth Landman. Wheeler earned her MFA in poetry from The Ohio State University and is author of Loud Dreaming in a Quiet Room. Landman's book, Sign You Were Mistaken, was published by Factory Hollow Press.

    Art Forms, Dehn Gallery Opening Reception

    The Adolf & Virginia Dehn Gallery presents the opening of Art Forms, a group exhibition featuring the works of Pamela Huntington, Pia Sjolin, Deborah Velasquez, and Chris London. The 6:00 gallery reception will feature light refreshments followed by live music at 8:00 p.m.

    About the exhibition: Four Connecticut artists mixing design, art and craft. Color, line, texture, shape — some of the basic formal elements of art and design play a pivotal role in the paintings, collages, artist books and ceramic wall pieces of these artists. On display from September 20 to October 24 at the Dehn Gallery at MCC on Main.

    Annual Walking Tour of the Cheney Brothers National Historic Landmark District

    The 35th annual Cheney District walk offers commentary on the history of silk manufacturing at the Cheny Brothers mills from its inception until its ultimate demise. The walk includes a tour to the Loom Exhibit at the History Center and a visit to the Old Manchester Museum. Manchester Community College's Dr. Christopher M. Paulin leads to walk.
