More than 170 faculty, students and community members participated in the 24th annual Global Issues Conference, held on October 26, at MCC. The conference, the theme of which was “Understanding Social Media and Global Change,“ sought to examine the lens through which we engage each other and the world around us, in a world where news production and consumption, political campaigning, cartography, disease tracking, advertising and the family cat have all moved into distributed social spaces more frequently located in the cloud than on the ground.
