Extraordinary Fine Wines at MCC

Manchester, Conn., (March 5, 2009)….Tickets are on sale for the 17th Annual An Evening of Fine Wines held on Friday, April 3 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. This year’s honorary chair is Peter J. Karl, President and CEO of Eastern Connecticut Health Network. WFSB Channel 3 Meteorologist Scot Haney is the event’s guest emcee.

The annual gala event is sponsored by the Manchester Community College Foundation, Inc. and combines a wine tasting and live wine auction with a silent auction of non-wine items to raise funds for scholarships and programs at the College.

The event will feature more than 100 different wines from around the world with at least 25 tasting tables. Each guest will receive a complimentary wine tasting glass for sampling the wines on display. Hors d'oeuvres will be served throughout the evening; coffee and a Viennese table of desserts will be served at the conclusion of the auction. A silent auction of merchandise and gift certificates will precede the main auction. Past items included vacations and weekend getaways, original works of art, and gift certificates for trips, restaurants, and professional services.

Tickets are $75 per person and must be purchased in advance. For more information or to purchase tickets, call (860) 512-2905 or visit the wine auction website at www.mcc.commnet.edu/wine/.
