MCC on Main Opening Events

Manchester, Connecticut-(June 21, 2012)… MCC on Main, Manchester Community College’s Arts and Education Center, located at 903 Main Street in Manchester, will hold its first events on Friday, July 13.

Gena Glickman, President of Manchester Community College, will present a talk entitled “Responding to MCC’s Community Needs” from 11:30 a.m.to 1 p.m. Participants will hear directly from President Glickman how the college’s strategy for the 21st century is driving its outreach into the surrounding towns. She will share her insights on this changing role, and explain the significance of MCC’s new facility on Main Street. The talk will be held in Seminar Room 1. Fee: $5.00, registration is required. The MCC Fine Arts Faculty Show will hold an opening reception from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The show will include painting, drawing, sculpture, photography and video.

The Rahsaan Langley Project featuring R&B, Neo-Soul and Motown music will play from 7:00 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the Gallery. Rahsaan Langley hails from New Haven and has been in the music business for over 20 years. He has worked alongside many influential industry greats and is currently producing/hosting his own internet radio show, called “The Rahsann Langley Project.”
