MCC on Main Grand Opening

Manchester, CT - (August 17, 2012)… Manchester Community College’s Arts and Education Center, MCC on Main, located at 903 Main Street in Manchester, will hold its grand opening on Thursday, September 13.

The celebration will include a pre-opening wine and champagne reception beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the home of Paula and Anthony Viscogliosi on the great lawn of the historic Charles Cheney Mansion. Food will be prepared by the award-winning MCC Culinary Arts Program. The event will provide the opportunity for guests to meet student and alumni artists.

The evening continues from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. with a dessert reception, art show and sale by current MCC Fine Arts students and alumni, featuring works in painting, drawing, photography, ceramics, printmaking and sculpture.

MCC on Main is an art gallery (including a video gallery), entrepreneurship center, café and seminar and conference room space for hosting classes and event-related programming. The focal point of the MCC on Main initiative is the art gallery that will feature national artists, as well as local and emerging artists. A variety of programs and services that bring arts, education and the community together will be offered.

Annual memberships to MCC on Main are available for $40 for an individual membership and $60 for a family/household membership. Membership includes 10% discount on seminars and classes, admission to concerts and visiting artist series, subscription to email alerts and calendar of events, and special preview events.

MCC on Main is made possible by a partnership among Manchester Community College, the Town of Manchester and the MCC Foundation, Inc., and the generosity of First Niagara Bank Foundation.

Students of any age who possess the desire to pursue higher education are welcome at MCC.
