Governor Dannel P. Malloy has officially proclaimed October as Connecticut. Dream It. Do It. Manufacturing Month in recognition of the importance of the manufacturing sector and manufacturing jobs to Connecticut's economic prosperity. The proclamation also honors the state's distinguished 200-year legacy of manufacturing products that impact the lives of people every day. Manufacturing Month events are scheduled throughout the state all month long.

“We are pleased to participate in Connecticut. Dream It. Do It. Manufacturing Month,” said Ed Dombroski, Coordinator of Manufacturing Programs, business and industry services at MCC. “These activities provide a foundation for students, schools, employees and employers to foster the skills, talents, and teamwork necessary to create a better, long-term economic outlook for Connecticut. MCC’s various programs are designed to serve the needs of both employees and employers, and to ensure that students get the right skills to succeed in today’s advanced, high-tech manufacturing jobs.”

MCC open house attendees will have the opportunity to tour college facilities and learn more about the manufacturing training and education as well as engineering degree program available at MCC.

The college’s manufacturing and engineering instructors will provide information about today’s design and production technology, and there will be staff on hand to discuss scholarship opportunities for people already working in the field.

Manufacturing Month is part of the Connecticut. Dream It. Do It. initiative to help promote manufacturing, educate Connecticut residents about the rewarding career pathways in manufacturing, and help the state's manufacturers recruit the skilled workforce that they need to succeed in a global market.

The initiative builds on the collaboration of the state's many industry associations, companies, educational institutions, and workforce and economic development organizations that advocate for manufacturing. It provides a foundation for students, schools, employees and employers today to cultivate the skills, talents and creativity necessary to create a better long-term economic outlook for the state through manufacturing
