Full Time Temporary Biology Lecturer (HL-SCI Grant Faculty)
10-Month, Non-tenure Track, Renewable for the Duration of the Grant

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in Biology required. Two years college level teaching experience in human anatomy and physiology/human biology preferred; experience with students of varying abilities; demonstrated commitment to and experience with implementing current science teaching standards; and demonstrated experience with laboratory technology. Prior experience in curriculum design and development is highly desirable.
An understanding of the mission of the community college is essential. In addition, the following core skills are required: demonstrated involvement in support of diversity, demonstrated ability to respond to and work with multiple constituencies, and demonstrated computer literacy, including instructional applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the Health and Life Sciences Career Initiative (HL-SCI) Work Plan, Manchester Community College is developing curriculum to initiate new programs and to revise existing programs in health care and life sciences. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the faculty member will spend 20% of his/her time working with the science and health care departments and Curriculum Innovation Coordinator to develop associate degree and certificate programs leading to retention, completion, and job placement of HL-SCI students.
Specific responsibilities include researching the need and writing justifications for new programs, evaluating the capacity of the college to offer programs, writing program proposals for the Board of Regents approval, meeting and communicating with the system HL-SCI groups and committees, including One-Stop Career Centers and employers. The faculty member must have transportation to attend meetings within the state.MINIMUM SALARY
$47,705 annually
