Instructor (Psychology)
10-Month, Tenure Track Position
ANTICIPATED STARTING DATE:
August 2012
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree in Psychology required. The candidate’s area of concentration is open with a demonstrated ability to teach introductory Psychology courses. Prior college teaching preferred.
Core skills required include: excellent oral and written communication skills; demonstrated involvement in support of diversity; demonstrated ability to work with multiple constituencies and demonstrated experience with technology as a teaching tool. An understanding of the mission of the community college is essential.
Applicants who do not meet the minimum qualifications as stated must put in writing precisely how their experience has prepared them for the responsibilities of this position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teaching General Psychology I and II courses as well as upper level core courses; student recruitment and advising; working with other faculty and staff on curriculum development, revision and evaluation; serving on departmental, division and college-wide committees; tutoring in the Academic Support Center, and other responsibilities related to a full-time tenure-track faculty position in the community college system.
MINIMUM SALARY:
$47,705 approximate annual
