Professor of Sociology, Coordinator, Academic Community Engagement
As Professor of Sociology, Dr. Woods has a long history of engaging his students in the local community through service-learning projects. He and his students have been especially engaged in issues surrounding homelessness and supportive housing, hunger, poverty, and education. As Coordinator of Academic Community Engagement, he works with students, staff, and faculty across the campus as well as with national and local community organizations to help align MCC’s higher education course learning objectives with projects that benefit the community. Dr. Woods lives in Manchester with his wife, Theresa Morris, and their two children, Benjamin and Allison.
Maria has a degree in community organizing from the University of Connecticut. She is experienced in working with nonprofit organizations and is excited about the opportunity to work alongside MCC faculty, students and staff in developing the Service Learning initiative at MCC.
