President to President Scholarship
The President to President Scholarship is a non-needs based scholarship for undergraduate students who have earned an associate's degree from MCC who wish to matriculate to University of Hartford or Central Connecticut State University.
Applications must be submitted to the Office of the Dean of Student Affairs (Student Services Center L287, Shelley Craig, 512-3203) by Friday, April 12, 2013.
University of Hartford
These non need-based awards are made available to undergraduates (citizens or permanent residents) who have earned an Associate's Degree from a Connecticut junior or community-technical college or from one of a selection of two-year colleges in Massachusetts.
The presidents of these colleges may submit nominations for up to three students. Nominated students must: have earned a minimum 3.3 cumulative GPA based on a minimum of 45 credit hours, have been awarded their Associates degree and plan to enroll as full-time students. Each participating college may have established additional criteria.
The amount of the scholarship is $4,000 per semester (fall and spring semesters only), up to an aggregate of 4 semesters. The scholarship is renewable provided the student maintains satisfactory academic progress, full-time status and a minimum 3.0 cumulative GP A. This scholarship may not be combined with any other non-need based award.
Students accepted into the Hartt School are ineligible for consideration for this scholarship. Students accepted into the Hartt School are awarded strictly based on performance. Non U.S. Citizens, part-time students, and students with a previous Bachelor's degree are also ineligible for this scholarship.
Central Connecticut State University
Recipients must demonstrate a commitment to attain a baccalaureate degree and meet all University entrance requirements for full-time matriculated undergraduates. Recipient must be recommended by their respective Community College President.
Criteria for the Selection
- Have applied for admission and have been accepted
- Pursue a full-time undergraduate degree at CCSU
- Have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better
- Have earned a minimum of 60 credits here at MCC
- Citizen or permanent resident of the US
- Recommend by their respective Community College President
