Although these images are older works, they remain relevant in that they strongly reflect my longtime passion for visually exploring the transformative power of death and how it colors and shapes my life. They are visual responses to the deaths of loved ones and are a record of my efforts to express the inexpressible. These images also are a connection to my current course of study of the cultural and social aspects of death, dying and grief. The images speak of personal loss but also explore the universal search for meaning in death and reflect upon its relationship to life; a transformative process that is an integral part of our human experience.
