Are you a student with a disability? We can help!

If you have a physical or psychological disability:

Contact Joseph Navarra, Counselor, at 860-512-3332 or in L108.  Joe will meet with you to review supporting documentation of your disability and determine the type of accommodations that MCC will provide.

If you have a learning disability or ADD/ADHD:

Contact Gail Stanton, Learning Disabilities Specialist, at 860-512-3325 or Joan Kantor, Counselor/Learning Disabilities Specialist, at 860-512-3326 in Lowe L131.  Gail or Joan will meet with you to review supporting documentation of your learning disability and determine the type of academic accommodations that MCC will provide.

If you are seeking testing accommodations:

Contact Georgette E. Hyman, Testing Administrator, at 860-512-3304 or in Lowe L131, after you have completed a consultation with Joseph Navarra, Gail Stanton or Joan Kantor and submitted a completed Testing Adjustment Request Form, which is also available in Lowe L131.  Requests must be made at least one week in advance.

If you would like E-Books

An E-Book is a digital version (CD) of a printed book. These can be read on personal computers (with a screen reader), or on hardware devices known as E-Book readers, or E-Book devices. Students who have difficulty reading printed books can benefit from the adjustment of text size, font face and audio imput. Text-to-speech software can be used to read E-Books to students automatically.

If you are a student at MCC and are interested in ordering E-Books, please follow these steps:

  1. Make an appointment to be assessed by an MCC Learning Disabilities Specialist:
    Gail Stanton - 860-512-3325
    Joan Kantor - 860-512-3326
If you cannot reach Gail or Joan, please contact Joseph Navarra at 860-512-3332.
  2. After the MCC Learning Disabilities Specialist has determined your eligibility for E-Books fill out an E-Book Request Form. You must fill out a separate form for every book you are requesting.
  3. When you have finished the form click submit at the bottom of the page and it will be sent to be processed.

If you have any questions about E-Books, please contact Daryn Kjellquist at 860-512-3314 or at dkjellquist@mcc.commnet.edu
